To enhance monitoring accuracy, CGWB has initiated automatic high-frequency monitoring using Digital Water Level Recorders (DWLRs).
These DWLRs are equipped with telemetry systems and record water levels every six hours.
The data collected is transferred to a central server through an online application called the Water Information Management System (WIMS), maintained by the National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
